College students today face intense pressure to succeed both academically and in the work force. Trying to attend college full-time while keeping student loans to a minimum by working part-time can cause you to reduce the hours of sleep you get each night. Not getting enough sleep coupled by worrying about course work and finances can take a tremendous toll on your skin. That’s why your eyes are puffy, your skin looks saggy and fine lines are so apparently evident when you look in the mirror in the morning after sleeping only three or four hours. Is there anything you can do to make your skin look more appealing and healthy after an all-night study session? Fortunately, there is!
Applying a mask in the morning for fifteen or twenty minutes can do wonders for refreshing a tired and droopy looking face due to lack of sufficient sleep. One homemade mask you can make is a mango mask. Take two tablespoons of chopped mango and mix it with one tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of almond oil. Blend the ingredients together and leave on your face. Rinse with lukewarm water. Another good mask to use is an avocado mask. Mash one avocado and one soft, cooked carrot, add 1/2 cup of heavy cream, one beaten egg and three tablespoons of honey. This mask will enhance your skin tone, stimulate collagen production and may even reduce the appearance of age spots.
Don’t let college pressure show on your skin by not getting enough sleep. This is the most important thing you can do to prevent skin that looks prematurely aged. Although it may be hard to incorporate more sleep into your schedule, try doing so by cutting back on work hours if possible and reducing the amount of late-night hours you indulge in with our college friends. That one will probably be the hardest of all to do!
By combining more sleep with facial masks, your skin will begin to improve within days and you no longer will have to use cosmetics to conceal those dark, under-eye circles or lines.
